Kęstutis Budrys, Senior National Security Adviser to the President of the Republic of Lithuania, visits South Korea

On November 26, 2024, Kęstutis Budrys, Senior National Security Adviser to the President of the Republic of Lithuania, Head of the National Security Group, visited Republic of Korea to strengthen cooperation between two countries in national security and defence areas.

During the visit, the Chief advisor met with Shin Won-sik, Director of the National Security Office of the President of South Korea, as well as with Kim Seon-ho, Vice Minister of National Defense of South Korea, and Kim Hong-kyun, First Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs. During the meetings the Chief advisor rejoiced intensifying bilateral political relations - the past years have been rich in bilateral visits, both countries opened embassies in the respective countries. “South Korea is one of Lithuania's most important like-minded partners in the Indo-Pacific region, in current geopolitical reality security situation in Europe and Indo-Pacific regions is interconnected, therefore the cooperation in political, security, economic and military areas must be strengthened”.

During the meetings with the Director of National Security and the Vice Minister of National Defense regional security situation was discussed, as well as strengthening cooperation in the areas of security and defense.
